Preaching Series

In response to the Reveal Implementation Team's review of the Reveal Survey data, here is preaching series for fall of 2010:

September:
•A Radical New Community: Acts 2:42-47. We will look at what made the early Christian Church truly "awesome."
•Foundations of the Faith. This group of sermons will affirm the four key themes of the Protestant Reformation: Grace Alone, Christ Alone, Faith Alone, and Scripture Alone.

October:
•Faith in Action Sunday on October 10. Starts with a brief service at 8:30, and then we will all go out to serve in our community. Afterwards, we will gather for celebration and dinner.
•Stewardship. As promised, we will focus our Stewardship series on our joyful and faithful response to God's generosity, and even mention the budget! After all, we give to the Lord, and not to a budget.

Sunday Morning Adult Discipleship

Starting on September 19, we are kicking off a new format for our Adult Christian Discipleship program for Sunday mornings. The purpose of these groups:
1. Create community
2. Strengthen fellowship
3. Build a common Biblical foundation because everyone will be discussing the same Biblical and spiritual issues.
4. Mold us into the likeness of Jesus Christ.

July 2010 Crossroads Staff Updates

Dear Friends,

Based on the recommendations of the Long Term Plan, the findings of the Reveal Survey, and Pastor Harrison's 100-Day Observation presentation, the Human Resource Ministry Team made recommendations to Crossroads Session which were approved in June, 2010 for the following changes in the staffing model. These staffing changes move Crossroads closer to the goal of creating stronger disciples in Christ.

Human Resource changes at Crossroads Staff resignations, cuts and reductions:

Adult ministries director resigned position effective June 30, 2010 - not to be rehired.

Children's Sunday Education Coordinator resigned effective June 30, 2010 - not to be rehired.

2 housekeeping positions eliminated effective June 30, 2010.

Children's choir director position eliminated effective June 30, 2010.

Administrative assistant to children, youth and families decreased from 40 to 30 hours per week.

Coordinator of lay ministries position decreased from 25 to 10 hours per week.

5 children's worship leader positions eliminated (as paid positions) as of August 31, 2010.

Interim Pastor resigned effective August 31, 2010 - not to be rehired.

Position additions and hour increases (effective July 1, 2010 unless otherwise noted):

Addition of executive administrative assistant position for pastors at 20 hours per week.

Addition of Pastor/Parish Associate of Discipleship position at 20 hours per week.

Full time Pastor of children, youth and families. This position is funded for 6 months, anticipating to start no earlier than January, 2011.

Facilities manager position increased from 16 to 20 hours per week.

Children's worship coordinator position increased from 5 to 8 hours per week.

Addition of 20 hours per week of administrative support to support worship ministries and staff.

Addition of 10 hours per week of administrative assistant support to membership ministries.
