2018-19 Crossroads MOPS
Never let the fire go out … When you hope, be joyful. When you suffer, be patient. When you pray, be faithful. Share with God’s people who are in need. Welcome others into your homes. -Romans 12:11-13(NIRV 1998)
What is MOPS?
Are you a mom who could use a little break and a chance to get refreshed and renewed? Do you long for adult conversation and a delicious meal that you can enjoy while it’s still warm? If you answered yes to either of these questions we invite you to visit MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) at Crossroads Presbyterian Church!
MOPS International offers mothers of young children a place to find friendship with other moms in a supportive and loving environment. MOPS is not a bible study. Instead, our ministry focuses on relationships and communicating the love of Jesus Christ.
Who is MOPS for?
MOPS welcomes any mom of children birth through Kindergarten.
A typical MOPS year consists of. . .
- New Friendships & Fellowship with other Moms JUST LIKE YOU!
- Homemade Delicious Breakfast & Hot Coffee
- Inspirational Speakers, Crafts, Service Projects
- Mom’s Night Out
When Is It?
MOPS is on the first and third Thursday of the month from 9:00 to 11:15 a.m. from September to May.
What About Childcare?
Loving childcare is provided by our church staff and volunteers; and our MOPS members also rotate to help once/semester to manage our childcare needs. Children are in age-specific rooms so that they have an opportunity to interact with peers and learn about the love of Jesus Christ in a developmentally appropriate way.
2018-2019 MOPS Theme – “FIND YOUR FIRE”
Sisters, this is a year we will tend the fire in our hearts.
We will stop inhaling the fumes of our mistakes that tell us we are not enough, not a good enough mom, not pretty enough, not brave enough, not smart enough, not wealthy enough. Instead, we will choose to tend our God-given fire. We will love our children with an all-consuming love and use our words to warm the world. We will hold the torch up high and shed light on what matters most.
When our homes feel cold, we’ll light a fire. When a friend has lost her spark, we’ll fan her flame. When the world seems dark, we will be an ember of hope.
