MOPS

2020 – 2021 Crossroads MOPS
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14
2020 – 2021 MOPS Theme : “DECIDE TO RISE”

This year, we want to tell you two things that will change your life if you believe them.

First, you are fearfully and wonderfully made.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14

Second, because you are fearfully and wonderfully made, you have work to do; meaningful work that was built into your DNA before you were born. Work that you were made for. Sometimes, we believe that our motherhood is a constraint that limits what we can do in this life. We want to remind you that motherhood isn’t a constraint – it’s a catalyst.

As we navigate through these challenging days, the hardest battle may be in our minds. It’s our time to Decide To Rise above any negative thoughts and choose to Be Strong, Do Your Work, and Chase Joy.

Here are the three things that we will do to remind ourselves of who God made us to be:

Be Strong

Do Your Work

Chase Joy

What is MOPS?
Are you a mom who could use a little break and a chance to get refreshed and renewed? Do you long for adult conversation and a delicious meal that you can enjoy while it’s still warm? If you answered yes to either of these questions we invite you to visit MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) at Crossroads Presbyterian Church!

MOPS International offers mothers of young children a place to find friendship with other moms in a supportive and loving environment.  MOPS is not a Bible study. Instead, our ministry focuses on relationships and communicating the love of Jesus Christ.

Who is MOPS for?
MOPS welcomes any mom of children, birth through Kindergarten.

A typical MOPS year consists of. . .

  • New friendships & fellowship with other moms JUST LIKE YOU!
  • Homemade delicious breakfast & hot coffee
  • Inspirational speakers, crafts, service projects
  • Mom’s night out
  • Playdates

When Is It?
MOPS is on the first and third Thursday of the month from 9:00 to 11:15 a.m. from September to May.

What About Childcare?
Loving childcare is provided by our church staff and volunteers; and our MOPS members also rotate to help once/semester to manage our childcare needs.  Children are in age-specific rooms so that they have an opportunity to interact with peers and learn about the love of Jesus Christ in a developmentally appropriate way.

Of course, nothing about this year is typical!
We are eager to return to our regular MOPS schedule, but until that is possible, we are going to Decide to Rise to the occasion, Be Strong, and find creative ways to safely Do the Work of MOPS! We will continue to Chase Joy together using a hybrid virtual meeting model.
Until we can safely resume our regular schedule, we will meet on our regularly scheduled Thursdays. Our Kickoff Meeting on September 17 will be virtual, and every subsequent first Thursday meeting will be virtual as well. These meetings will occur in the evenings. Our third Thursday meetings will be with curated small groups, which can choose their meeting time and type.
At this time, we are unable to offer childcare. We hope to be able to offer childcare again in the near future. Please fill out a MOPS Kids registration for any child for whom you anticipate needing childcare when it becomes available.
In these challenging times, we will find new ways to do what we have always done in MOPS…have fun, support each other, and enjoy fellowship with moms of all kinds. Join us as we Decide to Rise!
