Meet Our Staff

We are truly blessed to have wonderful, experienced and caring staff at CCP!

Maureen LeurquinPreschool Director
077IMG_1538Maureen has been the Director of Preschool at Crossroads for the past 14 years. Prior to working at the preschool, she worked as a paralegal for 13 years, but God led her in a different direction after her two children were born. She became dedicated to teaching young children and their families about God and His Word and became the Director of Children’s Ministries at Stony Hills Presbyterian Church in Germantown for 9 years. She then returned to school to obtain her state license in Early Childhood Education, as well as her state license to be a Center Director at a Group Child Care Center when she began her exciting journey with Crossroads Preschool. Maureen stays current on policies and learning strategies by attending seminars and college-level Early Childhood Educational courses, networking with other preschool directors as well as local Early Childhood Teachers. Maureen is committed to creating a nurturing environment where children and their families can feel safe and loved. Each year she looks forward to seeing how God works in each one of the student’s lives, as they blossom and grow throughout the school year.  Maureen enjoys taking long walks, Bible studies, watching the Packers, and boating. She and her husband, Jim, live in Germantown and have a son who works as an actuary and a daughter who attends UW-Oshkosh.

Erin Goldschmidt, 2K Lead Teacher

Erin Goldschmidt is Crossroads Christian Preschool’s 2-1/2K Lead Teacher. She is state certified in Early Childhood Education and has had many years of experience working with preschoolers, including being an on-site sub for CCP for several years.  Erin is a member at Crossroads Presbyterian Church and enjoys teaching children ages 4 and 5 the Scooters curriculum on Wednesday evenings, as well as lead teaching during Vacation Bible School.  Erin has a huge heart for preschoolers and her goal is to provide the children in her care with a Christian setting in which to grow, learn, and develop physically, spiritually, intellectually, socially and emotionally. She is excited to expose the children to age appropriate lessons that are experiential, movement-based, hands-on, and the best kind of messy!

Erin lives in Mequon with her husband Robert and three daughters Ivy (7 yrs.), Margaret (5 yrs.) and Scarlet (3 yrs.). All three of her children attended CCP, so she is very familiar with the program, and is very excited to be teaching at a preschool that she loves and strongly believes in!

Erin has a deep love for Jesus and spends much of her time serving others, as we are all called to serve.  Her other interests include remodeling and beautifying the home and yard with her husband, working toward Taekwondo Black Belt with her three daughters, creating mixed-media abstract art pieces and relaxing with The NY Times Crossword.

Stacy Fernandez, 2K Teacher Assistant

Stacy attended the University of WI-Oshkosh and received her BA degree in Speech Communication. She lives in Cedarburg with her husband Greg and her 3 children, Aaliyah (7), Violet (5) and Quincy (3).  Two of her three children attended Crossroads Preschool where she volunteered her time in the classroom. Stacy is also on the childcare staff at Crossroads and very much enjoys working with young children. In addition, she has volunteered as a crew leader for VBS and assisted in the Scooters program at Crossroads.

Stacy and her family enjoy spending time together camping and watching movies. They are members of First Immanuel Lutheran Church. She is very excited and feels blessed for this opportunity to continue to work with children and teach them about God’s love.

Denyse Rebro, 3K Teacher

Denyse has previous experience as a Community Educator and Certified Nursing Assistant in Pediatrics. She earned her Associate Degree in Human Services and her Masters in Psychology. After being a teacher assistant at CCP for four years, she became state certified in Early Childhood Education for a lead teacher. Her goals are to foster in each child’s heart the joy and love for school in a Christ-centered environment through language, physical, cognitive, social, and interpersonal learning.

As a cancer survivor, Denyse dedicates part of her time mentoring other breast cancer survivors and does public speaking. She loves football season and is a HUGE Green Bay Packers fan. She absolutely loves being with her family and friends, staying active, music, dancing, camping, and laughing!

Her adult son Cody, daughter in law Lindsey and her 2 grand puppies are very close to her in Grafton as well. Joan Chyko, 3K Teacher Assistant

We are so excited to have Joan Chyko join our team of teachers!

Joan received a BA degree in Journalism from UW Madison and has previous work experience in the field of advertising and media. During her time of being a stay-at-home mom and volunteering in the Cedarburg schools, she realized her love of working with young children in a classroom setting. Joan worked for 2 years as a 3K-4K teacher assistant with Imagine Me Preschool, followed by 9 more years working as a teacher assistant at Maple Leaf Academy Preschool in Grafton.

Joan cherishes the time spent with preschoolers and playing an important role in their growth and development. She believes in fostering a love of learning through a positive, nurturing, and safe environment. Joan is very excited to be a part of the CCP teaching team and to help the children get off to a strong start with their Christian based education.

Joan and her late husband raised their two sons in Cedarburg. Nick is an environmental engineer, and Daniel is studying geological engineering at UW Madison. Joan and her sons are members of First Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoys walking, gardening, genealogy, and spending time with family and friends.
