Crossroads Celebrates “Our Legacy of Faithfulness”

Please join your church family on Friday, November 3, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. for an evening of dinner, fellowship, and presentation by John Cary, Executive Director of the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer.) John will provide an entertaining look back on the forty year history of the MACC Fund and the exciting work that is in front of them. This is the first annual celebration of the Paul and Connie Doedens Legacy Society. Rev. Paul Doedens was Pastor of Crossroads from 1957–1992. The Society includes members who have self-identified that Crossroads is included in their wills/estate plans. Sign up in the narthex throughout October or  call the church office.

Living Compass Wellness Circles

Wellness is grounded in community – in our relationship with God and in our relationship with each other. To find new life and growth, join in a Living Compass Wellness Circle this fall facilitated by the Rev. Dr. Scott Stoner and trained Congregational Wellness Advocates (CWAs) from within our congregation. Wellness Circles seek to foster authentic conversations through which our community of faith more fully reflects the biblical metaphor of “The Body of Christ”. The Living Compass process, through the power of Spirit-inspired, authentic conversations strengthens connections already present in our congregation and fosters a greater sense of community.

The Wellness Circle process is designed for those individuals who want to work on their wellness in a committed, intentional way and are seeking support in doing things differently. Participants in small groups share what they are working on and encourage each other along the way. A Wellness Circle is comprised of six 90-minute sessions starting with a personal wellness assessment. The following sessions involve goal setting and creating FAITH steps based on what you intend to do to create change in your life. By being part of a Living Compass Wellness Circle, you are making a proactive decision to pay attention to all aspects of health and wellness – not only for yourself but, also by extension, to the congregation, as well!

Wednesdays, November 1-December 13 from 5:45 to 7:15 p.m. in the CLC.

RSVP to Tricia Landrum or call the church office.
