Meet Our Preschool Staff
We are truly blessed to have wonderful, experienced, and caring staff at CCP!
Maureen Leurquin, Preschool Director
Maureen has been the Director of Preschool at Crossroads for the past 16 years. Prior to working at the preschool, she worked as a paralegal for 13 years, but God led her in a different direction after her two children were born. She became dedicated to teaching young children and their families about God and His Word and became the Director of Children’s Ministries at Stony Hills Presbyterian Church in Germantown for 9 years. She then returned to school to obtain her state license in Early Childhood Education, as well as her state license to be a Center Director at a Group Child Care Center when she began her exciting journey with Crossroads Preschool. Maureen stays current on policies and learning strategies by attending seminars and college-level Early Childhood Educational courses, networking with other preschool directors as well as local Early Childhood Teachers. Maureen is committed to creating a nurturing environment where children and their families can feel safe and loved. Each year she looks forward to seeing how God works in each one of the student’s lives, as they blossom and grow throughout the school year. Maureen enjoys taking long walks, Bible studies, watching the Packers, and boating. She and her husband, Jim, live in Germantown and have a son who works as an actuary and a daughter who attends UW-Oshkosh.
Jenny Huizenga, 2K Lead Teacher
Jenny previously taught 2K at Mequon Preschool. She received her master’s degree in social work from UW-Madison and spent several years working as a social worker in hospitals and long-term care facilities before deciding to stay home with her daughters. After years of volunteering and subbing in her daughters’ preschool classrooms, she realized she had a passion for working with preschoolers and became state certified in Early Childhood Education. She has worked in early childhood education as a substitute teacher, assistant teacher, and lead teacher for the last four years.
Jenny loves being part of a child’s first school experience. She especially enjoys working with two-year-olds and is grateful to be able to play a role in laying down the foundation for life-long learning. She enjoys helping children learn by providing fun and age-appropriate activities. Jenny is thrilled to be part of the CCP team, to spread God’s love, and to be part of the development of children’s’ spiritual, social, physical, and academic growth.
Jenny lives in River Hills with her husband Tom, three daughters, Regan (15), Lauren (12) and Elise (7). She and her family are members of Fox Point Lutheran Church where she teaches VBS and Sunday school.

Denyse has previous experience as a Community Educator and Certified Nursing Assistant in Pediatrics. She has an Associate’s Degree in Human Services and her Master’s in Psychology. Denyse received her state license in Early Childhood Education and began working as a Teacher Assistant at CCP before transitioning to Lead 3K Teacher. She believes in a cooperative effort of parents and staff working together as a team to maximize the potential of each child. Her goals are to foster joy and love in the child’s heart for school in a Christ-centered environment through language, physical, cognitive, social, and interpersonal learning.
As a cancer survivor, Denyse dedicates part of her time to mentoring other breast cancer survivors and doing public speaking. She loves football season and is a HUGE Green Bay Packers fan. She absolutely loves being with her family and friends, staying active, music, dancing, camping, and laughing!
Denyse resides in Grafton with her daughter Delaney (12), shepherd collie mix Lola (16), and boxer mix Frazier (6). Her adult son Cody, granddaughter, and her 2 grand puppies are very close to her in Cedarburg as well. Denyse truly believes in the importance of building self-esteem in children and looks forward to having a fun-filled year with students, parents, and staff!

Stacy attended the University of WI-Oshkosh and received her BA degree in Speech Communication. She lives in Cedarburg with her husband Greg and her three children, Aaliyah (9), Violet (7) and Quincy (5). Two of her three children attended Crossroads Preschool during which time she volunteered in the classroom. Stacy is also on the childcare staff at Crossroads and very much enjoys working with young children. In addition, she has volunteered as a crew leader for VBS and assisted in the Scooters program at Crossroads.
Stacy and her family enjoy spending time together up north at their cabin in St. Germain and watching movies. This spring, they added Stella, a yellow lab, to their family. They’ve been quite busy with a puppy, but are enjoying watching her grow and learn. They are members of First Immanuel Lutheran Church. Stacy is very excited and feels blessed for this opportunity to continue to work with children and teach them about God’s love.
Joan Chyko, 3K Teacher Assistant
Joan received a BA degree in Journalism from UW Madison and has previous work experience in the field of advertising and media. Joan worked for 2 years as a 3K-4K teacher assistant with Imagine Me Preschool, followed by nine more years working as a teacher assistant at Maple Leaf Academy Preschool in Grafton.
Joan cherishes the time spent with preschoolers and playing an important role in their growth and development. She believes in fostering a love of learning through a positive, nurturing, and safe environment. Joan enjoys being part of the CCP teaching team and helping children get off to a strong start with their Christian based education.
Joan and her late husband raised their two sons in Cedarburg. Nick is an environmental engineer, and Daniel is a civil engineer. Joan and her sons are members of First Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoys walking, gardening, genealogy, and spending time with family and friends.
